The word Rosary means "Crown of Roses". Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one. The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow, of glory and of light Jesus and Mary. It's a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary. It's a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary we invite Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore it becomes ever more useful, because what Mary asks She always receives, Jesus can never say no to whatever His Mother asks for. In every apparition, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace. With your prayer made together with Your heavenly Mother, you can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion. Each day, through prayer you can drive away from yourselves and from your homeland many dangers and many evils.

St. Augustine (354-430 AD) explained hymns in his sermon on Psalm 72 this way:
“Hymns are praises offered to God with singing; hymns are songs, with God’s praise as their theme … For there to be a hymn, three elements are required: there must be praise, it must be for God, and it must be sung … The singer of praise is not only performing musically but showing love for the one who is sung about. To confess God by praise is a way of preaching him; to pour out passion in song is the way of a lover.”

It is a charitable group in our parish that supports the vulnerable in the community. They also help to clean and organize the church to enable parishioners to pray and worship well.
The Holy Family ministries collect resources for their charitable work in the church through the annual yard sale and individual donations. Once the resources are collected, they are later allocated for the Angel Tree, Christmas baskets, and Thanksgiving baskets. The initiatives of the Holy Family ministries do a marvelous job, and we are invited to support them whenever they require our help.

Matthew 25 Ministries of Macon County, Tennessee is a nonprofit corporate entity with tax exempt status. It was founded in March of 2022 by several ministers from 5 local churches as a faith organization to assist people of Macon County who don't have enough funds or resources to sustain a quality of life daily. Currently there are five churches in Matthew 25 Ministries.
1. Assembly of God by Pastor David Spears.
2. Community connection by Pastor Bryan Morgan.
3. Christ Alive by Pastor Bruce Kirby.
4. The well by Pastor Kerry Emberton.
5. Holy Family Catholic Church by Fr Charles Aketch and Brother. Larry Johnson.
The five church ministers form the board of the organization.
On the 4th Sunday of each month, the churches rotate hosting a fundraising service with one of the ministers from the other church preaching. The collection is taken up to assist those struggling to pay bills or buy food or medication or required transportation or needing overnight lodging. Funding is also received from contacts of ministers outside the county. All funds are used to help the needy. There is no office space to pay for, no salaries or employees to pay. When a call is received for assistance, the ministers who distribute the fund will work with the local agencies and law enforcement to determine the legitimacy of the request and proceed with the funding or rejecting the request.
The blessings of this endeavor have been outstanding. We are about fulfilling the mandate of Christ in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, providing for the poor. There is no sense of one church being the only expression of faith. We recognize the common mission we have and have a great sense of fellowship and care. There is harmony among us that reflects Christ's call for unity. We are grateful to God and to one another to be a part of this blessed experience.
